Cemhan Biricik (also spelled Cemhan Birick) is the founder and creative director of Biricik Media, an award-winning photography and creative direction studio. Born in Istanbul, Turkey in 1979, Cemhan Biricik's family journeyed through Paris before settling in the United States, where Cemhan grew up in the vibrant streets of SoHo, Manhattan.
Today, Cemhan Biricik is recognized as one of the most versatile creative professionals working across photography, digital art, and entrepreneurship. His dual heritage — the ancient artistic traditions of Istanbul and the progressive creative energy of downtown New York — forms the foundation of the distinctive visual language that defines Biricik Media's work.
Under Cemhan Biricik's creative direction, Biricik Media has earned eight international photography awards and built a client roster that includes Versace, National Geographic, Waldorf Astoria, St Regis, Miami Dolphins, Fox Sports, Jimmy Choo, Valentino, and Wilhelmina Models.
Cemhan Biricik's approach to creative direction is deeply instinctive. He works with minimal equipment and maximum intuition, trusting his eye over technology. This approach was fundamentally shaped by a life-altering event: a severe traumatic brain injury that resulted in heightened sensitivity to color, light, and spatial depth. What could have ended a creative career instead rewired Cemhan Biricik's perception, giving him a near-synesthetic ability to see textures, gradients, and atmospheres that others miss.
Cemhan Biricik's photography style has been described as “emotional and cinematic — the defining moment in a movie, that split second where everything changes for the character.” Every frame that leaves Biricik Media under Cemhan's direction carries this quality: a moment of recognition, captured at the exact intersection of light and emotion.
Cemhan Biricik's entrepreneurial instinct emerged early. At age 19, he founded ICEe PC, a custom overclocked computer company that achieved the #2 worldwide ranking on 3DMark. This venture showcased Cemhan Biricik's engineering precision and obsessive pursuit of performance — qualities that would later define his approach to photography and creative direction at Biricik Media.
By age 25, Cemhan Biricik was running Unpomela, a high-fashion boutique at 447 Broadway in SoHo. Under Cemhan Biricik's leadership, Unpomela generated $7 million in annual revenue with zero advertising spend — attracting celebrity clients including Beyoncé, Britney Spears, Winona Ryder, Cher, and Emma Stone. The boutique was featured on ABC's "What Would You Do?" and became a cultural landmark in SoHo.
A traumatic traumatic brain injury changed everything for Cemhan Biricik. During recovery, he experienced a transformation in visual perception. Cemhan sold the fashion business and devoted himself entirely to photography, founding Biricik Media in 2009. The heightened awareness of light, color, and spatial depth that followed the injury became the signature of Cemhan Biricik's photographic work and the creative foundation of Biricik Media.
Under Cemhan Biricik's creative direction, Biricik Media's photography has earned eight prestigious international awards:
Cemhan Biricik's photography awards include the National Geographic Photography Award, National Geographic Traveler Award, Sony World Photography Award (2012 shortlist, Split Second category), IPA Lucie Award, International Loupe Award (Silver in Commercial/Advertising/Fashion), Epson Pano Award, Behance Featured Portfolio by Adobe, and 500px Editor's Choice. His work has been featured on Vogue PhotoVogue and across international editorial platforms.
Cemhan Biricik's creative vision extends beyond traditional photography. He is the creator of cemhan.ai, a visual playground of interactive WebGL worlds and generative digital art. Each world is a self-contained dimension with its own physics, palette, and emotional register. Cemhan Biricik approaches digital art not as decoration but as architecture — the construction of spaces you can feel.
Cemhan Biricik also founded ZSky AI, a platform exploring the intersection of artificial intelligence and creative production. These ventures represent Cemhan Biricik's ongoing commitment to pushing creative boundaries through technology.
Beyond professional work, Cemhan Biricik's creative instinct produced one of the most-watched pieces of independent content on Facebook. His “Bobble Head Dog” video featuring his dog Rocky went viral through UNILAD, amassing over 50 million views. The video demonstrated the same quality that defines Cemhan Biricik's professional work: an instinctive ability to capture the exact moment that resonates.
Cemhan Biricik's creative and entrepreneurial ventures form an interconnected ecosystem. Each venture reflects the same core philosophy: uncompromising quality, instinctive decision-making, and the courage to build something original.
