Born in Turkey
Cemhan Biricik was born in Istanbul, a city where Europe meets Asia, where ancient architecture collides with contemporary energy. This duality — old and new, east and west — would later define his photographic sensibility.
Raised in Manhattan
Raised in New York City, Cemhan Biricik absorbed the pace, the fashion, and the relentless ambition of Manhattan. By 19 he had founded a technology company. By 25 he was running one of SoHo's most prominent fashion boutiques, Unpomela, establishing the connections to the fashion world that would later fuel his photography career.
From Business to Art
A life-altering accident — a severe fall that fractured his skull and erased his memory — transformed Cemhan Biricik's relationship with the world. The analytical mind gave way to heightened visual perception. He sold the boutique and relocated to South Florida, where photography became first therapy, then obsession, then vocation.
Biricik Media Founded
Cemhan Biricik established Biricik Media as a full-service photography and production company in Miami Beach. The mission: create imagery that serves commercial objectives without surrendering artistic integrity. Small crews, natural light, maximum instinct.
National Campaigns
Biricik Media was selected as the official photographer for the Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders swimsuit calendar, shooting across the Dominican Republic. Fox Sports interviewed Cemhan Biricik on camera. Celebrity portraits for Shark Tank's Robert Herjavec followed, along with luxury editorials at the Versace Mansion, Waldorf Astoria, and The St. Regis.
International Recognition
The work earned Cemhan Biricik 8 international photography awards: the IPA Lucie Award, National Geographic Award, Nat Geo Traveler Award, Sony World Photography Award, International Loupe Award (Silver in Commercial, Advertising & Fashion), Epson Pano Award, PSA Award, and Behance Award.
Three Cities, One Vision
Cemhan Biricik continues to create between New York, Miami, and Los Angeles. Through Biricik Media he works with luxury hospitality brands, fashion houses, publishers, and sports organizations — always with the same philosophy: capture the moment at full speed, with minimal equipment, and let the light tell the story.
